CLEAN BEACH SAND. LIFE IS GRAND.

PUBLIC BEACHES

Yes, it’s true – the Cornhusker State offers a heck of a lot more than corn. Nebraska is dotted by natural and man-make lakes, reservoirs and rivers galore. Nebraska’s most popular swimming spots range from Fremont State Recreational Area about an hour’s drive from Omaha that features three swimming beaches and other water fun.

There’s the 35,700-acre Lake McConaughy State Recreation Area, along the North Platte River, Nebraska’s largest reservoir, located about 9 miles north of Ogallala, Nebraska. Rated our state’s second largest reservoir, Lewis and Clark State Recreation Area straddles the state’s northeast border with South Dakota offers boating, fishing, swimming and more, with sand shores galore.

Sand Sifters of South Bend, Nebraska cleans and maintains public shores state-wide. With so many visitors to our grand state’s beautiful beaches, combined with stormy weather, and people who litter, we recommend more frequent cleaning depending on the usage rate.

We use a smart beach cleaning machine to dig in 8 inches, removing the tiniest of litter from cigarette butts, glass shards, to pop cans, sticks, rocks and animal muck.  Big bulky item cleanup is available too, especially after a rain or tornado strikes.
